AN ACT to improve the safety of private busing.
Be it enacted by the Youth Model Legislature of the State of New Jersey that all
charter bus companies licensed in the State of New Jersey shall provide seat belts for
every seat on each bus they operate.

Charter bus companies with a license in New Jersey shall have seat
belts installed for each seat on every bus owned by said company.
A check for seat belts shall be included into the regularly
performed safety inspections of buses.
Any violators of this act shall be fined $1,100 per bus without an
adequate number of seat belts.
This bill shall take effect on June 1, 2002. |

| Statement of Intent: The purpose of this bill is to make private bus travel safer.
Financial Statement: Since annual bus inspection already exist, the cost of this bill
shall be $5,000 for rewriting and redistribution of the law books.
