The new Press Corps will be actively engaged in the legislative process of the conference, and their work will have a direct impact on the outcome of bill debate. The Press Corps will be divided into two seperate and ideologically competing newsletters: each will publish with the goal of persuading delegates to vote in line with their ideological platform:
Journalists will be required to select several bills of personal interest. Throughout the course of the Conference weekend, journalists will be expected to push for the passage of these bills through the use of Op-Ed pieces. Journalists will also have the opportunity to observe bill debate in chambers, take part in bill debate in committees, interview bill authors, and supplement articles with their own opinions and background research. The goal of this years Press Corps is to better simulate the effect of media on public opinion and legislative outcomes.
