CONSENT CALENDAR

  • Each Committee will have the opportunity to nominate two (2) Bills for the Consent
    Calendar.
  • Consent Calendar Bills are placed on the Chamber Docket at a specific time and
    proceed directly to a vote without any debate.
  • To be nominated for the Consent Calendar, a Bill must be:
    -Recommend by a Committee member, the Committee Leadership, or the Main
    Sponsor;
    -Approved by the Main Sponsor;
    -Not require debate;
    AND
    - Receive majority approval for nomination from the Committee.
  • Sponsors should seriously consider the Consent Calendar for non-controversial Bills.
  • This route means a guaranteed hearing before the Chamber Session!
