CABINET MEMBERS
The Youth Governor, prior to Pre-Leg, shall appoint Cabinet members representing all of the Committees as well as a Chief of Staff. Every effort is to be made to insure broad delegation representation on the Cabinet.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in the Program
- Expressed interest in the subject area selected for
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Acceptance of program goals, philosophy, and rules
Duties and Responsibilities
- Become thoroughly familiar with the issues pertaining to his/her department and
prepare a Position Paper for the Governor about those issues
- Represent the issue of his/her department during the Governor’s Bill discussions at
the Program
- Assist with the planning of Pre-Leg
- Chief of Staff shall assist in the coordination of all Cabinet activities, organize Press
Conferences, etc.
- Must attend both Pre-Leg and Officers’ Training
- Develop a Governor’s Initiative Bill in the topic area assigned
- Prepare and present testimony to the two committees in his/her area of expertise
